Even though I have no current plans to make comics or graphic novels (maybe in the future), I still see this as a great tool for compiling comics into an interactible format.
The graphics, presentation, and music are still great.

My only gripe is that it might open the floodgates for more spammy comics to make their way onto NG. One might for example, simplify the visuals, focus more on humor as opposed to story, even reuse some panels for good measure, which can allow one to submit comics as 'games' every week, possibly quicker, and still get decent scores.
This might also be something the voting system can resolve, but then again, it doesn't take much skill-wise to become a successful webcomic creator as opposed to an animator or gamedev.

Remember, this might be competing against someone's thesis film.

SUGGESTIONS:
1. A "manga" setting, as in, pages go from right to left. Again, never used it, IDK if it already has that.
(it doesn't take much to become a successful webcomic creator as opposed to an animator or gamedev)

2. Make a "Bando's Album Wizard", ie. a similar tool for albums / EPs. (as in, you compile a bunch of audio files, name them, give them cover art, etc, and turn them into a single interactive package) (This I might actually want to use.)

Thanks for taking the time to review our utility! I'm glad you see some use for yourself, and I really hope it does encourage you to make a graphic novel. I think you'd make an excellent one. Come join us! :D

The manga setting is a good idea, and we'll take a look into it. And your idea for albums is really intriguing! We might have to think about something like that in the future. Thanks for those suggestions!

Good game. No game's faster than this!

ps: check the leaderboard.

Gameplay: It’s OK at best. A bit basic, but not in a good way. I’ve heard some of the gaps were too long,
Graphics: Needs some serious improvement. You can always learn how to draw.
Music: It’s Waterflame. I’d rather give him my 5.

yes i know we fixing it please be pasant it take some time

Just asking, any difference between this and this other version posted on September 2022?

Well, aside from being able to embed it in a higher resolution that is, something you can easily do by hitting full-screen. You know you can swap out the original game with a newer version, right?

carbonlad responds:

There isnt a ton of differences between Sept 2022 and this one, no.

Even if theres fullscreen available, it tends to show stuff off screen with some of my games.
It did dawn on me yea, that people could use even just the html to fix that but the ratios are so sensitive.

I didnt even know the screens on my game were an issue on higher monitors (4k plus) until someone pointed it out to me.

I appreciate this comment a lot tho, thank you.

TLDR: Comic great, "game" presentation needs a lot of work.

As a comic, I'm not going to comment much on it. It's 18 pages long, quality artwork, decent story, the girl looks a little derpy, and one sex scene (no nudity thankfully). Maybe the colours + lighting look a bit flat, but that's about it.

However, "Paradise Slice 02: Read the Comic" (also Slice 01) is technically considered a "game", or rather, an interactive piece of software which centers around this comic, not too far off from most e-book readers, and from a technical perspective, it's incredibly barebones. You can click either side (or arrow keys) to flip pages, pop it out to another tab, and nothing else. No music or sound effects, no additional flair, nothing that oozes "creativity" aside from within those pages.

Here are some suggestions for improvement:
*** Try to add stuff from the author comments (descriptions, credits, links to other comics, etc) into the software itself.
Example: The instructions could be a single pop-up when you open the comic.
*** Visual indicators that only show up when you hover your mouse over one side (to indicate you should click to flip the next page.

** Display 2 pages like a real comic book
** A short animation that plays when you flip a page, rather than just instantly skipping to the next page.
** Some music (that you can change volume). Maybe 2-3 different songs in different sections of the comic.

* A button to jump straight back to the start
* Change the title from "Read the Comic" to just "Comic", preferably in brackets
* Some voices / dubs if possible.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Do note there's a difference between something being barebones and being minimalistic.

KittyhawkMontrose responds:

It's good to hear from a fellow Aussie! :D As you hit on the head, we're going for "barebones" at the moment. These are great ideas for expanding, especially the quick jump to the start. I like that! Thanks so much for the thorough review, and I'm glad you liked the comic portion a lot. ^_^

BTW I'm stuck on last medal.

Wow, how did you get all of the quiz right?! It's the hardest quiz ever!

Also, well done finding the easter egg there!

Only true issue with game: Wonky graphics and tower generation / collision. You can't go in between any towers and eventually they all cluster together.

== Uh oh, too damn high! ==
Score: 7 (technically 0, but I'm voting this low to support the game)

This is a neat little endless arcade-ish bullet-hell shooter, a follow-up to an existing game with slight mechanic changes.

Just so you know, the goal of the 3 star game jam is to get as close to 3 stars as possible, and despite being made in less than 2 days, this is actually good and thus needs a lower score.

Graphics: 8 | Design: 9 | Music: 7 | Polish: 6 | Anime: 7 | Theme Accuracy: 6

Some things to note:

1. It's made in Unity and not RPGMaker, so that's a plus in my book.

2. Inconsistent sprite resolutions. It's a good idea to make sure all the pixels in most sprites are generally the same size.
For example: Kai's sprite appears to be 3 times to the default resolution (about 480p), whereas the background is 1.5 times, where some rows/columns of pixels are half the size of the rest of the pixels. Mia's sprite is also inconsistent compared to Kai's, also using twice as many pixels as her mother.

3. I feel that the text such as the title, dialogue, battle info etc. can be bland.

4. The combat. It's a turn-based system, although the bow can be aimed with A and D and enemy shields can block it. You can also attack your teammates with some moves, maybe some point in the full game you can find a practical use for that. Overall, neat innovations that can work.

Hope that helps.

TaaroBravo responds:

Hey there!
Sorry for the delay.
I appreciate all the feedback you left me, I'm working to make the art all integrated and also to make it adaptable to different resolutions.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write :)
