I don't think you did anything, scores don't mean shit, some people just zero bomb for no reason, and since it is shown as an all-in-one system you don't get to see all the five stars you also got. Please forget about the star system, and keep making stuff!

I can understand the odd ‘completely unnecessary’ zerobomb every now and then, but it shouldn’t really spread to other submissions. I don’t expect perfect 5s all around. Even the frontpaged shit hovers around 4.5-4.7, so something else must be at play.

@Anonymous-Frog even if there is, don't let it bother you... score don't matter anyway

Yes it does. It's the main measure that determines whether a submission is crap or not.

My question is do you make content for yourself or for others? Trying to appease to literally every stranger on the World Wide Web is pretty much impossible. As long as you enjoyed making what you make, scores will not mean much. So yeah, I do agree with Henry here.

I agreed with Henry on this one

While Star Rating can help provide what content is good and decent, it is not much to worry about.

There are people out there that Zero-Bomb just for sake of zerobombing, as far as I am concerned it has been traditional on NG since the beginning of time.
At end of the day, Star rating, much of Like/Retweet, is just a statistical number. Sure, the rating can help get bit better understanding but as long you are proud of your piece, I won't worry about it.

People have different tastes on Art Portal and it is hard to please people nowadays.

I tend to only get around 15 votes per art submission, unlike the 70-100 I get for movies. At that stage, one zerobomb can shave a HUGE percentage off your score. So it's a serious problem for me when a significant portion of my catalog get their scores lowered by such a wide margin in the span of 2 weeks.

yeah, gotta agree with our comrade henry, don't trip much about the score

This is another 'don't listen to them, they don't matter' response, which is complete bullshit!

@Anonymous-Frog well, if all you want is to have a high score then you gotta trip a lot about it, i guess

@Anonymous-Frog
"15 Votes per Art unlike 70-10 for Movie"
Voting act very differently on each Portal, more precisely, Art/Audio and Game/Movie Portal.

Games and Movies (Animation) are all first put into an "Under Judgement" section, meaning that it is all public to everyone's eyes. When Under Judgement, it relays on voting from the people, and since it is an all-in-one portal, you will get a lot more people looking and voting.

(In more detail to this: When the Submission gets 1.5 or less, it gets blamed and removed. Generally speaking, 2.5 or 3 Stars on Movies is a hella lot better than getting blamed.
You also have to think, that when submission is Under Judgement, people will vote brutally honestly.)

On Art and Audio Portal, however, they don't have this system, instead, they have a scouting system. Un-scout is not seen right away, only scouted. Even if you are scouted, it may not get more attention as they don't have this Judgement system. You also only see Featured artwork on front pages to avoid seeing shitty artwork. That is why Artwork only gets fewer votes compared to movies.

The only effective way of doing so is to have an "Art Thread" on BBS, Promote NG links on Discord or Twitter or even Reddit, and more. Promoting NG links is important if you really care about voting.

If you worry that your submission often gets low voting, the best way is to try and/or improve your art style.

I've been improving constantly for almost 2 years already and at this stage I've averaged around 4.1-4.3. This one has cleaner outlines and it animates and now it's dropped to 3.55.
It's now being obvious that this is NOT because of my skills, but because I'm being targeted.

hahahaha whiny little bitch

I see your frustration in this, and I am reminded by a song from a while ago in the metal gear saga, violence breeds violence
it's likely that you are in the crosshairs of people in your fans list that get notifications on your postings or reviews and then weigh those against your own personal creations
you poop on someone else, the mob poops on you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
