Flash Flood 2021 has started!

Posted by Anonymous-Frog - February 1st, 2021

It's been 31 days since Adobe officially pulled the plug on Flash, Surely, you'd be parched by now, right?

WRONG!

The waters are going to be rougher than ever, thanks to this year's Flash Flood!

In case you don't know, the Flash Flood is an annual event from the Clock Crew where participants create 1 animation every day for the entire month of February.

Due to time constraints, the animation quality usually doesn't hold up against everything else on Newgrounds, but I've seen some really good stuff come out of them anyways.

I'll be kicking off the event with Frog Flood, a hybrid between standalone Flashes and an ongoing story. I will use traditional Flash movies emulated in Ruffle, though this episode uses my classic format.

What am I doing in the Clock Crew? No one knows.

ThorClock also debuted a new series, ThorClock Breaks Free. It's very similar to the ThorClock Takes Over series he did for last year's Flood, which was turned into a standalone movie on Clock Day.

RadioTubeClock just put out an amazing lead-in for the Flood.

RedbookClock released a video where OctopusClock plays the once popular Fall Guys.

Meanwhile, PannacottaClock shows off his 'house'

D-Va Clock released 'The Clockgoliers', a great story about some missing plane passengers.

The Blamming Issue:

We initially released our entries not knowing that we were going to get wrongfully blammed really quickly, which almost halted the Flash Flood. Only RadioTube survived, albeit with a really low score. We suspected that the issue was caused by spam bots targeting us based off certain keywords, so we resubmitted without those keywords, which got us more acceptable scores.

From now on, to ensure your movie survives, leave the words 'clock' and 'crew' out of your title, tags, and description until after it passes judgement.

Meanwhile, DeodorantClock created a movie based off these events:
