The voice is a LOT better, the main character doesn't look like bootleg Edd anymore, and the watermark's gone, but unfortunately it still takes place in a white void and the drawings are still rough and basic. I think you might need to remake this a third time.

This is a really interesting mashup of characters from the 1993 Super Mario Bros film with their video game counterparts, although some of the characters are closer to their original video game counterparts. Are these custom-made?

The parallax is done very well, however the girl looks a bit stiff, especially with her clothes. It looks like its being tweened from one point to another without any smooth transition.

I can accept the red shading as a custom Super Game Boy or GBC enhanced palette to suit the Castlevania-esque mood, but the Game Boy only has 4 colours. This has 6.

With a submission this short, I expect some level of motion such as lip syncing or arm motion or something like that. But no, there’s only four drawn frames, Total. Just put them on the Art Portal!

You’re a talented artist. I don’t care if it’s somewhat sexually suggestive. You should know that not a lot of effort went into this because you have made better submissions before. You’re just watering yourself down by posting low effort animatics like this.

RE: Edited my review. Newgrounds is not really the place for posting short animatic memes like this. Their focus is on ANIMATION. If this was on YouTube, I wouldn’t be bashing it THERE for a lack of effort, but Newgrounds values quality a whole lot more.

So answer me this: A lot of hard-working animators struggle to get a score of 3.8 / 5, even those who animate to OneyPlays clips. Is your shitpost really better than them?

I don't care how nice those titties are, it's still doesn't excuse the fact that a. there is no sound, b. it's only 9 seconds long. I'd definitely recommend spending a whole lot more time (approx 1 month or more) working on longer animations. It pays off. No backlash and people will love you more.

UPDATE:
I’m not saying that short content is bad on Newgrounds. Just as long as you’re actually putting effort into them. For example let’s consider Delfrig. He has thousands of views from really short videos. He posts videos as short as this one, but there’s two main differences.
1. He’s doing full colour a full motion animations that are smooth enough to pass as a Cyanide and Happiness skit. He’s also a writer for said show.
2. He’s not relying on tits to get views, he’s instead adapting his own original comic strips to animation, so they have every reason to be short as they are. You instead dub them

Same deal with GlitchArtTV. He adds sounds to his 7 second short shorts, even if it sometimes come from other sources. They’re also not targeting anyone who’s horny or anything.

And how does this compare? Basically you could capture the entire message of this video. Literally. Go to the end and Print Screen the thing. The entire thing is that ‘NFT’ is an acronym for tits. Seems to me that this IS targeted towards horny teens with little effort in terms of writing.

Keep in mind that the only real problem I have with short content is if it beats out longer content and I’m also very biased against videos designed to get you off like this one, also because it can get in the way of the mostly SFW daily picks.

As for what sound, idk use a rubber duck sound or something.

In all seriousness, that bit was to me, the funniest part of the animation. Nice little nod to when I criticised the previous 'Rigno Star Productions' video for being very rushed and unfunny compared to previous submissions. Shame I can't say the same thing for this video, the cycle's just gonna continue.

MEDIOCRE (2 / 5)

NEGATIVES:
- Extremely rough + rushed animation without colour.
- Very few sounds, aside from Chronos's (the man in the top hat) voice. All dialogue aside from him come from text
- Basic ovals and rectangles that makes 1 week look like 1 day.
- No music.

POSITIVES:
- Chronos is drawn a little better than everyone else, although he still seems a little off.
- Has the potential to be a good story if the above negatives were fixed.

INFO:
- 2 minutes long
- No colour, only black and white / couldn't be bothered to use the fill tool

Nearly 7 moths have gone by, but that does not matter. It wasn't made in a week as far as I remember. I storyboarded it for 5-6 days and then made in 1.5 days straight without sleep, so I definitely wasn't thinking straight when animating, but that's kind of an excuse. Happy to infrom that I now animate much better and faster :)
