Holy shit, it's just his normal speaking voice. Damnit Chris Fulp Spam Funkin' Pratt that all you got?

This is supposed to be some sort of long lost video game based on the heavily stylized work of 2D + 3D artist GRUB LORD, however it's not a very good attempt. Various background and UI assets are of a very poor quality and the sprites are only sort of ok.

Quick reminder. You are able to post GIF, WEBP, or other animated image formats without sound to the Art Portal.

Original description (before it was changed in 2008)
"Do you plan on making a sequal to The Golden Mushroom? 'Cause if you are, then Maybe you could use some custom (recolored) Mario/Luigi sprites?"

That PM made my day, and I just had to make this. The Golden Mushroom 2 (a remake of the original but with recolors)

Thanks to Edd Gould and others for the voices.

Onto the review:

"The Golden Mushroom 2" is the final flash movie submitted to NG by MajinPiccolo. According to the opening credits, the late Edd Gould (who Majin had previously collaborated with at least twice) is one of the voice actors in this.

It isn't actually a sequel to The Golden Mushroom, but rather an abridged retelling of the original using different sprites, weird colour changes, and overall, of a lesser quality to the original, albeit very intentionally.

Many jokes have been altered, such as Wario and Waluigi dancing to Run DMC's "It's Tricky". They now dance to a different song, but Mario still ignores them.
Due to its shorter length, the scene select is gone. You're gonna have to watch it in one sitting. Or find a way to download the flash and convert it to video via Swivel.

== Try Flash ==

Vectorian Giotto appears to be some sort of Flash clone where, according to this video, has a defective fill tool. I recommend getting the real Flash, even Macromedia Flash 8, an older version from 2005 that still works wonders. Just make sure to get used to every single tool on there.

This was originally published as a reupload of the Piconjo Jam, presumably by accident. It was swapped with the actual movie just minutes later.

Really goofy looking Mario cartoon. I appreciate the style and the many MANY character expressions, but it does look rough in many areas, notably when outlines stick out. There are also some poses that change without any in-betweens.

MISCELLANEOUS SUGGESTIONS (as a NG creator, not necessarily for this submission specifically)

Some things to note:

1. This video blends live action with 'gameplay' consisting of actual cardboard cutout drawn to resemble the graphics of Doom.
Enemies and weapons are either puppeteered by hand or moved digitally. The latter are sometimes animated using different sprites (such as the lost souls). A considerable amount of effort has been made to craft this video, even though a good amount of NG users (myself included) may prefer traditional animation or even stop-motion.

2. This video was released on YouTube on Sep 6, 2018 and has 10K views as of today.
This is the 15th video to be brought over to Newgrounds over a 2 week span by an already established creator (12k+ subscribers).

The creator has since made other cardboard Doom videos, with one in 2020 covering the PC version (and also using 3D sets rather than 2D backgrounds), and a 2021 video about Doom 2 with John Romero himself cameoing as a severed head.

3. The video was initially published without a title as "untitled #1936309". I recommend putting the title in before hitting "Publish".

4. The actual SNES version of Doom was released in 1995 and lacks textures on the floors and ceilings, but it's acknowledged that these are ignored.

5. The video's tagged with 'doom', 'doom-2', 'doom-3', and 'doom-eternal' even though the video only covers the original Doom.
