Anonymous-Frog's News

Posted by Anonymous-Frog - February 18th, 2021

Back again with a new update on my projects. Also, this also doubles as a celebration for 60 fans, thank you for that!

Frog Flood

Almost all episodes of Frog Flood are complete, except episodes 23 and 25. Also, from this point forward, most episodes will follow a single storyline. It may be a bit broken due to some of the other episodes not appearing to following one, but it's a storyline nonetheless.

After Flash Flood 2021, I will compile them all into a single standalone movie, with extra scenes in between.

Game Projects

I've been experimenting with other game development platforms. I only find Construct 2 useful for short spam games like the stuff @ZabuJard or @8BitAnt makes.

I've tried to use Stencyl to develop an Anonymous Frog point and click adventure game, but I couldn't find a good way to export it to HTML5. I can export it as a Flash game, but it's not supported by Ruffle at the moment.

I tried to install HaxeFlixel, but I couldn't get that right.

I did use Flash to create Grubhub Assassin, a short menu based game for the Flash Forward Jam that got over 1,000 views. Unless I sharpen up old ActionScript skills, I won't be using that for any big games any time soon.

I've settled with Godot for game development. As soon as I figure that out,

All other projects have been temporarily put on hold.

I finally got my account back from Flounderman. I've returned to our regularly scheduled Flash Flood.

I just want to inform everyone on Newgrounds that the Anonymous-Frog Newgrounds page belongs to me now! Expect a sudden drop in quality from this point forward.

Hi. Today marks day 4 of 2021's Flash Flood. I've been keeping track of every single event happening and releasing daily updates as it goes on, so make sure to follow me so you don't miss the news.

Rather than do a newspost to keep track of everything, I have instead created a playlist not only for Frog Flood, but also for Flash Flood 2021. Currently, only the five participating Clocks will be added to this playlist, which includes RedbookClock, myself, PannacottaClock, ThorClock, and D-VaClock. Other clocks submitting one-offs or not fully participating in the Flood won't appear until later.

Here's a recap of what happened yesterday.

Pop-Tart Clock along with RobClock has decided to sit this Flood out, despite Redbook and I trying to convince them otherwise.

Winning the Daily 5th award is Little-Rena (D-Va Clock) with The Duck and the SWF. Not gonna spoil it, watch the movie for yourself. Congratulations!

With ThorClock still at large, this episode of ThorClock Breaks Free sees AMPM getting Redbook a peggey.

For Frog Flood, I decided to bite into a garlic every day until Nintendo releases a new WarioWare game.

RedbookClock created a parody of F R I E N D S, called C L O C K S, despite not having watched the show it was based on.

The roots that trapped Pannacotta and friends in the walls reveals itself to be a god.

Hi. I am the anonymous frog. And today, the Flash Flood continues. We are still going strong.

Here's a recap of yesterday's Flood entries

Winning the Daily 3rd is ThorClock with Part 2 of his epic saga: ThorClock Breaks Free

His escape has gotten so severe, it warrants an investigation led by Pop-Tart Clock.

Don't forget to watch start from day 1 in case you haven't caught up.

At 10th place, we have RedBookClock's Mean Gurlz, where ScrewdriverClock hangs out with mean clocks at high school.

Meanwhile, something goes wrong in PannacottaClock's house. Clocks are getting stuck in the walls. How will Pannacotta get out of this one?

And here's Part 1 in case you missed it.

D.VaClock decided to go through a change.

I posted another episode of Frog Flood, titled Grubhub. It's based off the terrible advertisement from the food delivery service of the same name. We are so sick of it, we had to do something about it.

Speaking of Grubhub, I had also made a Flash game about killing them for the Flash Forward Jam. Check that out too if you want to blow some steam for a minute.

Hi. I am the anonymous frog. Today marks the second day of Flash Flood 2021, the first Flood to take place after Flash's death, and seventh flood overall.

The flood was almost halted when four clocks (myself included) got suspiciously blammed well under an hour after submitting. The full story can be found here, complete with clocks and non-clocks voicing their opinions.

The issue has since been resolved.

Flash Flood 2021 Day 1 Round-Up

Two clocks, @RealRedbookClock and @PannacottaClock won Daily Awards for their participations in the Flash Flood.

RedbookClock won a Daily 3rd award for releasing 'Octopus Gaming' a video where OctopusClock plays the once popular Fall Guys.

Meanwhile, PannacottaClock shows off his 'house' and wins a Daily 5th in the process.

RadioTubeClock released a new episode of the award-winning On The Bridge, with an amazing lead-in for this year's Flood. It stars Cyberdevil and BB10 as voice actors. It survived with only 2 stars, whereas other OTB episodes usually get 4 stars.

ThorClock released Part 1 of ThorClock Breaks Free. a new series similar to the ThorClock Takes Over series he did for last year's Flood, which was turned into a standalone movie on Clock Day.

It follows the story of ThorClock after he breaks out of a maximum security prison.

DeodorantClock made 'The Blammer', based off the attacks that almost killed the Flash Flood

D-Va Clock released 'The Clockgoliers', a great story about some missing plane passengers.

And last but not least, I myself participated in the flood with Frog Flood. The first episode is a parody of Phineas and Ferb.

It's been 31 days since Adobe officially pulled the plug on Flash, Surely, you'd be parched by now, right?

WRONG!

The waters are going to be rougher than ever, thanks to this year's Flash Flood!

In case you don't know, the Flash Flood is an annual event from the Clock Crew where participants create 1 animation every day for the entire month of February.

Due to time constraints, the animation quality usually doesn't hold up against everything else on Newgrounds, but I've seen some really good stuff come out of them anyways.

I'll be kicking off the event with Frog Flood, a hybrid between standalone Flashes and an ongoing story. I will use traditional Flash movies emulated in Ruffle, though this episode uses my classic format.

What am I doing in the Clock Crew? No one knows.

ThorClock also debuted a new series, ThorClock Breaks Free. It's very similar to the ThorClock Takes Over series he did for last year's Flood, which was turned into a standalone movie on Clock Day.

RadioTubeClock just put out an amazing lead-in for the Flood.

RedbookClock released a video where OctopusClock plays the once popular Fall Guys.

Meanwhile, PannacottaClock shows off his 'house'

D-Va Clock released 'The Clockgoliers', a great story about some missing plane passengers.

The Blamming Issue:

We initially released our entries not knowing that we were going to get wrongfully blammed really quickly, which almost halted the Flash Flood. Only RadioTube survived, albeit with a really low score. We suspected that the issue was caused by spam bots targeting us based off certain keywords, so we resubmitted without those keywords, which got us more acceptable scores.

From now on, to ensure your movie survives, leave the words 'clock' and 'crew' out of your title, tags, and description until after it passes judgement.

Meanwhile, DeodorantClock created a movie based off these events:

Hi. Another project update for the month of January.

Grubhub Assassin

I just released Grubhub Assassin as a Flash game. It works 99% fine with Ruffle, only the medals don't work. Use the Newgrounds Player for those.

It's similar to the Assassin games on Newgrounds that people made back in the day, so I'm mixing the old with the new.

https://www.newgrounds.com/collection/assassin

The game is a bit short, with only six ways to kill the character, but I wanted to get this out as quick as possible.

Half-In

I have released the album on Bandcamp, complete with some tracks that haven't been heard on Newgrounds.

It's free to download.

Frog Flood

With both my projects for January out of the way. I can now focus on making movies for the Flash Flood.

What's the Flash Flood?

The Flash Flood is an annual event started by the Clock Crew in 2010, where every day on February, participants aim to post one movie every day. After going dormant in 2014, it was brought back last year.

Fast-forward to 2021, the year Flash is officially at its end-of-life, making it harder to access, with Ruffle working its way up to become a better alternative, This makes 2021 the perfect opportunity for another Flash Flood.

I've decided to honor this tradition with Frog Flood, a new series where I post pretty much anything remotely funny, whether it's Anonymous Frog shorts, clock movies, collab entries, and other special goodies. Every episode will be released around 8 AM EST, though if I miss that date, I'll upload later in the day.

That's all I have in this news post. Don't forget to follow me, vote 5 and comment on my flies.

To celebrate Pixel Day, I made a Spot the Difference artwork based off the Clock Crew. There's 12 differences to be found.

Happy Pixel Day!
