Hello. I am the anonymous frog. And today on this special day I'd like to recap what I've worked on this month.

I know this wouldn't make a lot of sense for anyone who just stumbled onto my page and read this, so let me get you up to date.

I'm a very prolific Newgrounds user who animates with outdated software and I have no time to participate in coordinated newspost spam about joke characters. Before becoming the spiritual successor to 40 NG users like I am today, I originally worked on a series called Anonymous Frog, in MS Paint about a fat frog with TTS and alcoholism. Then I joined NG, made 3 more episodes, then got involved with some old-era Flash crews (which still exist) and forgot how to make episodes. That and some other old cack.

I've previously worked on two lesser versions of existing NG games both with over 4 stars, using Scratch.

High Scores:

I played @53xy83457's new Flash game Facemaul and got on the leaderboard (which at one point was the world record)

Immediately after I beat my own record in NG Duelled after watching a video of him playing the game again. I went from 1,800 to over 3,000.

Flash Forward 2021: I'm dropping out of the Jam, even though technically I have two submissions, albeit one reupload and one under an alt. Nothing professional yet and probably never. Whatever Flash animations I was working on for this jam will be released after the jam. At least four animations are yet to be submitted.

Extending my Flash knowledge.

TIL about Flash Extensions, I first heard about an extension called PixelTools that @rtil used in an animation, which should make pixel art easier to create, He covered it in this post.

I also figured out a way to make my Flash movies longer than 10 minutes. How it's done is that I put a 3 minute animation scene into a movie clip, pause the flash to let the movie clip play, and then once the movie clip is done, it tells the main timeline to play the movie and onto the next scene where the cycle continues.

This means I can now fix the broken Anonymous Frog Day Special.

It's not a new trick, from what I could find it has been done in collabs in the past, I can't believe the Kitty Krew figured this out yet I didn't!

Simple Sight / Necromancer Theme 2022

Because I'm in a good mood, I've decided to do another version of Simple Sight, which a lot of people will know as the Necromancer Theme. Hopefully that will keep you satisfied while the next Piercing Lazer album is awaiting release.

Jack Serious Game

My next big project after NG Zero Hour.

Hey, this is another update. If you've actually been paying attention to the news feed, you'll know I'm not dead. But what it WON'T tell you is what I am up to this month.

Flash Flood 2021:

Last year, I went all in with Frog Flood, a 28 part 'anything goes' show, which later got edited into a 30 minute film.

This year, I've decided to let @BeepBoxClock cover for me, who had just finished up their album The Jamuary Saga on the previous month. Every day there was a new song, which was either something original or from upcoming projects.

I also posted 4 submissions that weren't music, two of them were actually made during the Flood.

JollyWorld Album.

I've finished around 80% of the songs on this album, and have released half of them on Newgrounds, most of them during the Jamuary / Flash Flood period.

Iceologer's Revenge 2:

Put on hold to focus on work on various game projects for a little bit. I will return to it soon after. It's not like I'm @Stepford or anything.

Wordle: NG Edition: Following the success of Wordle, I made this.

Gun Shit Drive: Originally created by @Taka, this is a demake of @LeviRamirez's Shoot Trip Die made to look like an Atari 2600 game. He originally invited me to be a beta tester, but once I started making improvements, I became the new programmer and finished the game in three days. It'll be released in a few days.

NG Zero Hour: Last year I applied to work on this game as a pixel artist. Most of my work was to redo old sprites that had to be replaced due to them being too small. And I'm still at it today!

This is a Wordle + Bloons tower defence puzzle hybrid made by @Stepford and mastered by me as soon as he/she released it.

HOW TO GET THE 'BIG HEADED' MEDAL EASILY:

The first person to get this medal used this trick.

Play the Daily Level in Incognito / Private mode, then play until you win or lose. Memorize the given word, then refresh the game and replay the Daily Level. You should be able to get it right first try since you already know the answer.

NOTE: YOU MUST USE INCOGNITO / PRIVATE MODE. IF YOU TRY THIS IN NORMAL MODE, YOU WILL INSTEAD GET THE 'IMPATIENT' MEDAL!

This trick also helps you get a higher leaderboard score.

To get around it, use Incognito / private mode on your browser. That way this screen doesn't show up and you can play again knowing the same word.

HOW TO KILL ENEMIES FAST:

With just White towers:

Place them in areas with maximum coverage so that you don't waste bullets. Even though they only fire when an enemy is in their tiny range, the bullets can extend to the end of the screen.

You can place them between rows or columns to effectively double your potential coverage.

With Orange towers:

They have a sizeable range, but their projectiles shoot quicker, so technically they have less range than a White tower, but practically they're more powerful since they can directly aim at a target.

You get one if you guess a word with a correct letter in the wrong place.

GUESSING WORDS QUICKER:

Since your answer doesn't have to be a real word, you can use one or two guesses to expand your list of usable letters. You may not get good towers doing this, but you do end up expanding your list of usable / unusable letters pretty quick.

HOW TO GET MORE TOWERS:

If you get at least one green letter (right letter, right place) and at least one orange letter (right letter wrong place), you will get both a Green and an Orange tower. You can also collect 3 randomly spawning diamonds to get a free White tower.

HOW TO DEAL WITH PURPLE ENEMIES:

Move your towers a little further along the path. These enemies start out transparent and immune to damage until they've travelled a good chunk of the path, where they'll then be vulnerable.

HOW TO SURVIVE THE FINAL WAVE AFTER GUESSING ALL ANSWERS WRONG

You can't!

For the past 2 weeks since that thing exploded, roots have been growing in the surrounded area. I'm still trying to figure out what that thing was.

Despite the roots, the submission seems to have slowed down to just once every 2 weeks and seems to be getting better. It's still a post-apocalyptic mess though, so I can only fix so much.

The frontpage appears to be gone now, so that's something!

It's been 2 weeks since the incident first occured. The growth that just showed up last week had now exploded. Who knows what was in there. Surely it can't be well thought out.

After 1 week of decay, I've noticed something growing very close to ground zero. I would've thought it would turn into that 'uncanny' Mr. Incredible meme or something, but turns out I'm just bad at guessing.

On Pixel Day 2022, I submitted this crappy doodle to the Art Portal in order to celebrate three NG events on the same day at the same time with the same submission.

Hours after it being submitted, it got put on the NG front page while I was sleeping, despite months of wishes against it. This seemingly simple submission of two video game characters of colour in a fight just wasn't stable enough to be featured on the front page, and it was just crap enough to cause one of the NG servers to melt down and infect the rest of the site.

I tried messaging Tom Fulp about cleaning up the mess and undoing the whole situation, but at the time of this post, he didn't respond. I tried taking it upon myself to clean the mess, but it was too late. I had unleased an abomination so vile it really shouldn't be on the Art Portal.

Unlike with movies and games, Art Portal submissions cannot be blammed. So there's really nothing left to do besides watching the chaos unfold:
